FAQS

What can I expect?

Using the BootyNet Maritime network is 100% different from using a traditional cell tower or BootySat. Speeds will be limited to 200kb/s upload and download, call quality will vary with swell height, and SMS messages can take up to 5 minutes to send depending on how far you are from land. We hope you understand

Can I use my normal BootyNet device?

Absolutely not, using a ground device with Maritime roaming is prohibited by several treaties we made up. You could receive a fine of up to $80,000 if your ground device connects to Maritime roaming

How will it appear on my bill?

a large charge… on average, about $14,000, occasionally itemized as “misc. nautical”

Will all services be available to me?

No, we normally turn off one or more of the following services while at sea to save on stuff like money and money: Making calls, receiving calls, using data, SMS, or the whole network. This may be done for many reasons, including weather, mood, and whether the satellite feels like it. You will receive a notification from your BootyNet app before you set sail with more information.
